Steve Jones - City Council Place Five
The oil crisis in the Gulf has made me more determined to tell our stories as we deal with the issues that have arisen as a result. Every day since oil arrived on our shores, I have visited the beach between 7:00 and 8:00 AM to take pictures of the truth as it is on our Public Beach area and publish them for the world to see. (Or at least the Facebook world.) The response has been overwhelming, and I'm humbled by the trust friends and visitors have placed in me by viewing them daily to keep up with what we are seeing and feeling.
Your City leaders are committed to telling the truth about the impacts this having on our economy and our lives. Our credibility must be maintained in order to keep the confidence of the voting public, and equally important, our visiting public. If it is bad, we'll tell it like it is. If it's good, you'll see that too. Your trust in us is paramount to all of us surviving this ordeal. We humbly ask for your prayers and support.
"We shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight on the seas and the oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender." Winston Churchill talking to the British Public in the 1940's, and we that live here on the Alabama Gulf Coast talking to the world today!
